When the summer crowds fade and the Welsh countryside bursts into shades of red, orange, and gold, Devil's Bridge becomes one of the most stunning destinations in West Wales. Located about 12 miles east of Aberystwyth in the Rheidol Valley, this historic site offers dramatic waterfalls, ancient bridges, and woodland walks that are at their absolute best during autumn.
Teifi Taxis offers convenient taxi day trips to Devil's Bridge from Aberystwyth, Lampeter, and across Ceredigion. Let us handle the driving while you enjoy the views.
The Autumn Colours at Devil's Bridge
The Mynach Falls and surrounding woodland create a spectacular display from late September through November. Ancient oak trees turn golden, ferns carpet the hillsides in russet, and the waterfalls run fuller after autumn rainfall, creating a powerful, misty atmosphere at the base of the falls.
The famous nature trail — Jacob's Ladder — descends steeply into the gorge past three bridges built one on top of another, the oldest dating back to the 11th century. In autumn, the path is framed by colourful foliage and the sound of rushing water echoes through the valley.
Getting to Devil's Bridge by Taxi
While the Vale of Rheidol Railway offers a scenic (seasonal) route from Aberystwyth, a taxi gives you flexibility to travel on your own schedule and explore at your own pace. We can drop you off, let you explore for as long as you wish, and pick you up when you're done.
The drive from Aberystwyth takes about 25 minutes along the A4120, passing through beautiful countryside. From Lampeter, it's approximately 40 minutes. We offer competitive fixed-price fares for the round trip.
